COVID-19 New Penn Center for Coronavirus Research
In response to the current pandemic, the Microbiology Department at the Perelman School of Medicine has founded the Center for Research on Coronavirus and Other Emerging Pathogens. The focus of the Center is to provide centralized information on COVID-19 research developments both globally and in our community, and to discover more about the novel coronavirus in order to develop new ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent infection. In addition to studying the virus, research teams are also currently working on novel mask/PPE technologies, novel & inexpensive ventilatory tech, pneumonia screening, and 3-D printing applications.
